This Week at St. John’s UCC

Centering Words for November 24:  Have we come here this day seeking blessings for ourselves, or have we come seeking the Creator and the Giver of all good things?

Sunday, November 247–Worship, 10:30 a.m.  Thanksgiving Sunday.  We will give thanks for all of our blessings.  Pastor Carol’s meditation is titled “Add It All Up!”  The scriptures are Psalm 111 and I Corinthians 4:1-8.  The choir will sing the traditional anthem, “Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem” by J. H. Maunder.  Following worship all are welcome to a time of fellowship in Oppermann Hall.

The Consistory meets after worship this Sunday.

Tuesday, November 26–Ladies meet at LuLu’s, 9 a.m.; Our Daily Bread, 10:30 a.m., TOPS, 6 p.m.

Wednesday, November 27–Men meet at Arby’s, 8:30 a.m.; NO choir practice this week

Thursday, November 28–Thanksgiving Day!  Be sure to count your blessings

Friday, November 29–Church office closed

Saturday, November 29–Sanctuary decorated for Advent/Christmas, 9 a.m.

Sunday, December 1–Hanging of the Greens during worship; dedication of the new Christmas tree in memory of Reverend Don Rock; Communion served; piano/organ duets provided by Barbara and Mary Plaugher

Upcoming Events:

Sunday, December 8–The choir’s Christmas cantata will be performed during the worship service; Second Sunday Potluck follows in Oppermann Hall.
